Legend has it that he had the Kohinoor positioned near a window so that Shah Jahan could see the Taj only by looking at its reflection in the stone.

When Nadir Shah invaded Agra and Delhi In 1739, along with Peacock Throne he also carried off Koh-i-noor to Persia.It is he who lended the name Koh-i-noor looking at its charm.The next sixty years of its history are the most violent and bloodstained. The final owner was Maharaja Duleep Singh, son of Maharaja Ranjit Singh,in the backdrop of the two Sikh Wars leading to the annexation of the Punjab by the British. The hoisting of British flag was on March 29th, 1849 Lahore where Punjab was formally proclaimed a part of the British Empire in India. One of the terms of the Treaty of Lahore was:- "The gem called the Koh-i-noor which was taken from Shah Shuja-ul-Mulk by Maharajah Ranjit Singh shall be surrendered by the Maharajah of Lahore to the Queen of England."The Koh-i-Noor left the shores of India on April 6, 1850, and on reaching London on July 2, 1850, it was handed over to the Board of Directors of the East India Company.Thereafter successive Indian empires suffered misfortune and misery, legend also said that whoever shall possess the Koh-i-noor will one day rule the world and that no man shall dare wear it. Thus far any man who’s possessed the diamond has suffered ill luck, even death. Queens Victoria and Elizabeth are the only monarchs who have worn the Koh-i-noor and lived to tell about it .At present its in the Crown of Queen of England.

Experts in Tokyo have finished assembling a replica of what they claim is the world's biggest dinosaur skeleton.

The original bones of the dinosaur were discovered in Dzungaria, north western China in 2001. The replica was expected to be displayed for the first time at an exhibition hall in suburban Tokyo on Monday afternoon.
